1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using WordPop ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

WordPop is a word-building game for iOS devices. The App includes:

• Solo Play: 60-second word-finding rounds played locally on your device.
• Multiplayer Duels: Real-time competitive matches against other players or AI-powered ghost opponents, facilitated through online servers.
• Progression Systems: Experience points, levels, achievements, daily quests, and leaderboards.

3. Eligibility

WordPop is available to users of all ages. No account registration, email, or personal information is required. Users under 13 should have parental consent before using multiplayer features that display user-chosen display names to other players.

4. User Accounts

WordPop uses anonymous authentication. You are not required to create an account with an email or password. An anonymous identifier is automatically generated for multiplayer functionality. This identifier:

• Cannot be recovered if you delete the app or switch devices.
• Is not linked to any personal information.
• May be regenerated upon reinstallation.

5. User Conduct

When using WordPop, you agree to:

• Play fairly: Do not use bots, scripts, modified clients, or any automated tools to gain an unfair advantage in matches.
• Choose appropriate names: Display names must not contain offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or sexually explicit language. We reserve the right to reset display names that violate this policy.
• Respect other players: Do not engage in harassment, abuse, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
• Not interfere with service: Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the game servers, matchmaking systems, or other players' experiences.

6. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
• Modify the App or create derivative works.
• Exploit bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities for competitive advantage. If you discover a bug, we encourage you to report it.
• Use third-party tools to manipulate game data, scores, or multiplayer communications.
• Impersonate other players, our team, or any other entity.
• Use the App for any illegal purpose.

7. Intellectual Property

All content in WordPop — including but not limited to the game design, visual assets, animations, sound effects, code, and user interface — is the intellectual property of the WordPop development team and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

8. Multiplayer and Fair Play

• Server-Side Validation: All multiplayer word submissions are validated by our servers. Submissions that fail validation are rejected.
• ELO Rating: Your competitive rating is calculated based on match outcomes. Intentional losing, win-trading, or rating manipulation is prohibited.
• Ghost Opponents: When no human opponent is available, you may be matched with an AI-powered ghost opponent. Ghost opponents replay recorded game sessions and are identified with unique names and avatars.
• Disconnections: Disconnecting during a multiplayer match may result in a forfeit after a grace period.

9. Leaderboards and Scores

Scores submitted to public leaderboards are subject to review. We reserve the right to remove scores that appear to result from cheating, exploitation, or manipulation. Leaderboard rankings are provided for entertainment purposes and do not constitute any form of prize or reward.

10. Availability and Modifications

• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time without prior notice.
• We may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts multiplayer services.
• Game mechanics, scoring algorithms, and difficulty balancing may be adjusted through updates.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION, OR BE FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE WORDPOP DEVELOPMENT TEAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GAME PROGRESS, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to multiplayer features if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon uninstallation, all locally stored data is deleted. Server-side data associated with your anonymous ID may be retained or deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
